Built for tough outdoor use, the sling won’t absorb water, stiffen, or lose grip in rain, snow, or mud. It stays reliable whatever the weather. These are serious dependable tools, not decorative rifle accessories. For years, these slings have proven reliable for hardcore hunters and off-grid homesteaders. To maintain your sling, wipe off dirt and mud with a damp cloth, then let it dry naturally, away from heat. The leather is deeply treated at the tannery, so no heavy oiling or conditioning is needed. For long-term care, occasionally use a small amount of neatsfoot oil, leather conditioner, or saddle soap to keep it flexible and looking good. Basically, treat it like your horse tack. The leather is weather-resistant, true Latigo, tanned from native U. Heavy steer hides (not cowhide). Latigo leather is tanned twice and treated with oils, waxes, and tallow at the tannery, which can’t be replicated with home conditioners. It breaks in quickly, becoming supple and comfortable after 10-15 hours of use. Comes with two steel sling swivels installed. Just attach the sling to your rifle, and you’re ready. The swivels are made by GrovTec in the USA. Length adjusts by sliding the center braided knot. Quick adjustment is easy, even with gloves. Fits all rifles and shotguns that have standard sling swivel studs (most modern hunting rifles and shotguns from brands like Remington, Henry, Winchester, Ruger, Mossberg, Savage, Marlin, and others).
