Up for sale, a Japanese Arisaka Type 38 Leather Sling. This sling has a steel buckle and button. It has 2 buckle slots and one grouping of five and one grouping of three adjustment holes. One leather loop keeper. The kanji is still nicely visible. The character closest to the button has some wear. The full character is visible when the light shines on it (see pic). The leather is still strong and pliable. The surface is worn from use and the surface is flaking on the high wear areas where the buckle and button attaches. Dimensions of the sling are as follows. Give or take a 10th of an inch: Sling overall length: 43 1/2″ Sling width: 1 1/8″ Buckle inside dimensions: 1 1/4″ x 1/2″ Buckle outside dimensions: 1 1/2″ x 3/4″ Leather loop outside dimensions: 1 1/2″ x 3/4″ With the characteristics and the research this sling appears to be genuine.
