For sale here is a great looking US WW2 M1903 Springfield or M1 Garand Leather Rifle Sling. The sling is made of brown leather and has darkened steel hardware. Unfortunately, the steel hardware has lost almost all of its finish, but it does have a nice mellow patina. As is common with these, there are some surface cracks at some of the prong holes. However, the sling remains supple and strong, and there aren’t very many of the cracks compared to many others that i have owned. This sling appears to be marked BOYT 43. However, this is very light and very hard to see. The eighth picture is where i have tried to photo the marking. It takes just the right light and angle to see the marking. Well marked by PARRIS-DUNN, it is modeled on the 1903 Springfield bolt-action rifle and approximates the size and action but does not operate. THIS IS NOT A REAL GUN! 43.75 long, 5 lbs. CONDITION: Original finish to stock and US Navy battleship gray parkerized finish. Adjustable leather sling is good. You won’t find another better example. Original WWI & WWII U. GI issue M1907 leather rifle sling. This sling was intended to be used on the Springfield 1903, 1917 Enfield, and U. S Trench Combat shotguns. /(1 or 2 perhaps). The sling is all intact including both of its sewn leather keepers and remains in very solid condition with pliable leather that stands on its own. I removed this sling from a Springfield Trapdoor rifle made in the 1870’s. Sure looks to be that vintage. This would be ideal for a vintage Springfield rifle. The leather is in good shape. It shows some dry cracking but is sturdy. This has a US marking, so you know its authentic and was used in Government war time action. Overall, a nice sling and is made with good quality. I removed this sling from a Springfield Trapdoor rifle made in the 1870’s. Sure looks to be that vintage. This would be ideal for a vintage Springfield rifle. The leather is in good shape. It shows some dry cracking but is sturdy. This has a US marking, so you know its authentic and was used in Government war time action. Overall, a nice sling and is made with good quality.
