Handcrafted rifle sling, made by Seelye Leather Works. Hand tooled and carved, made from veg-tanned cow (embossed Alligator) and backed with American Bison. The sling is padded, adjustable, and has brass chicago screw fasteners. The sling starting length is 30 1/2″ long and adjust out to 33″ long. All of SLW items are handcrafted, each item is unique. SLW uses only the finest natural leather, and the natural surface of leather has its own characteristics. The proof of its uniqueness is the markings that occur during the life of the animal. Leather used to create the products of SLW will include scratches, scars, brands, insect bites, indentations and scuffs. This adds to the uniqueness and beauty of SLW products. 30 1/2″ long, 31 3/4″, 33 long. 3 wide at the top including piping. 2 wide at the bottom including piping. 1 1/8 wide top and bottom strap. This sling was originally made from 3 sections that are sewed together and the stitching is very strong. It has one brass hook that has a nice shape to it and is securely fastened. The vast majority of the surface is very nice with some surface wear on the end that has the keeper. Both keepers are very nice but the stitching has come loose where the ends meet. 1870s thru WW1 Style… Shows little to no usage… Very clean and pliable. 43 inches total strap un-folded length and 1-1/4 inch width. One slide band and one fixed slide-thru band. Leather thong tie at one end. Never -or- only very slightly whitened. These were de-commissioned in 1990s downsizing of Brit. QM arrow & 80s dates on reverses. Adjust slides and you are good… !! Up for sale, a very rare SVT 40 sling. This sling is an early version and is all leather. This is an example of a real all leather STV 40 sling. Notice the spear shape tabs and that all of the points are sewn. This shows it authenticity. This sling is in good shape for being 70+ years old. The leather is still pliable. I dont see any ripping or tearing. There is surface discoloration and rippling from use and age which is to be expected. The straps that connect to the rifle have some surface cracks where they bend over. Measurements are as follows: tip to tip: 57.5 1st leather strap tip to buckle: 10 2nd leather strap tip to buckle: 17.75 Strap width where in attaches to the rifle. 75 Sling width in the middle: 1.125 Please see all pics as they are part of the items description and of the actual item you will receive.
