US CIVIL WAR / INDIAN WARS ERA? LEATHER RIFLE SLING with DOUBLE WIRE BRASS HOOK M. I looked at this with a few people and we all believe it is a Civil War to Indian Wars era sling. It has all of the physical characteristics of an 1800s leather rifle sling. Sharps, Spencer or Henry type of rifle. 51 ¼ inches of leather and the total length is 28 ¼ inches. Keeper hook is in very good and straight condition. It is securely fastened within the end of the sling with strong leather and stitching. On the backside of the sling, there is a hole reinforcement of 24 ¾ inches. Of that, about 2 ¼ inches of it has come undone due to the stitching has broken. The backside is a rough texture common to leather. The hole reinforcement is slightly rough. The leather keeper is securely attached and has a small area of surface cracking. The top of the sling is a mixture of smooth, some surface cracking, and some areas of normal surface wear. The leather is strong and pliable. It is stamped within a rectangle: M. We do not believe this to be the year of manufacture. But rather a lot or other identification number. Currently not sure what this is for. This is approximately 56 inches long from end to end. It is 1 1/8 inches wide and 1/8 inches thick. This is a very high quality sling. The leather is in very good condition. And is very strong. The color ranges from a medium to darker brown over most of the length. There is some minor surface wear and wrinkling, but for the vast majority, it is relatively smooth. It is firm and completely pliable. The buckle is in very good condition and it is securely attached with either copper or brass rivets. Most of the paint is worn. On the other end is very clean and shiny. The end with the buckle is. It is my understanding that the number 77 refers to the year it was made: 1877. SWISS SCHMIDT RUBIN K-31, K31, K11. Customized Handmade cobra shaped leather rifle sling with Jurassic Park inspired design featuring a T-Rex & footprints. This design was inspired by a request for a rifle sling for the Marlin Model 1895SBL Rifle featured in Jurassic World. Shoulder strap is 3 wide at widest point. Designed for 1″ sling swivels with 1″ tab at top and 1 wide strap. Sling has an adjustable length from 30″ to 44″. Sling swivels are not included. We start with premium 7/9 ounce natural vegetable tanned leather and laser engrave the desired design and shape. The edges are then beveled, finished, and slicked with gum tragacanth. The sling is then dyed and finished with a top coat and wax to protect the finish. It is finally assembled with black hardware including a Chicago Screw at the top and a Conway buckle for adjustments. The finish is varied due to natural grain of the leather and hand application of the finish, we will try to get it as close to the piece depicted in the photo as possible. This is a made to order item that takes several days to complete due to drying time. We can make any size, color, design, text, finish or hardware. This is a beautiful hand-made, single piece and custom stamped product. The sling width is built for 1 inch swing swivels and the shoulder patch is 2 inches wide and 16 inches long. This sling measures 33.5 inches at the shortest to 40.5 inches at the longest. There is some space to punch holes to shorten the sling further if you desire. This sling is not padded at the shoulder patch, but is lined with a nice cowhide. Coloring: This sling is a custom product. Coloring may not be color perfect in the pictures, but I do my very best to represent my products honestly.
