This vintage piece of leather shows wear including discoloration around the brass pieces, a tear by the ring holding the two sides together, discoloration, darkening, marks, scuffs, scratches, and other wear from use and age. The piece is marked “R-S”, and G. The piece measures approximately 1 3/16 inches wide, and 56 1/2 inches in overall length. Missing short strap that attaches to buckle end. Really neat piece of WW2 history. Up for sale is this vintage Swedish Military m/96 m/38 rifle sling. This variant is distinguished by having exactly 24 adjustment holes punched into the leather. The “Swedish Crown” is prominently stamped to the underside of the leather just below the buckle. The “yellow tape” around the loop is further verification of this slings authenticity. Swedish military arsenal color-coding or soldier personalization was common on different types of gear issued during war time. Sling measures 48 1/2 inches in length.
