The leather is professionally finished using old world techniques of hand rubbed oils, and waxes to give a beautiful, long lasting luster to your fine gun leather, the edges are highly burnished, polished and edge coated to complete the professional finish. This listing is for a Special Order like Sporting Rifle Sling as shown in dark brown stain, which features Sheridan style floral tooling, a padded shoulder, thumb hole and is fully adjustable as shown in our photos. Original WWII Era US Army/USMC M1907 Leather Sling for the M1903 Springfield, M1918 BAR, M1917 Enfiled or M1 Garand Rifle – Unmarked – NICE Condition. This sling has the correct WWII Blackened Steel Hooks. The sling is used, see photo’s for condition. The sling has both leather keepers. The leather is soft and supple. There are several areas of wrinkling on the surface of the leather. Please see photo’s. The leather has darken with age, but still retains most of that rich russet brown color. The stitching is all tight and intact. The longer sling has been shortened about 6 from the original length. This is an Original Functional WWII era Sling and would look great on a WWII era rifle. NOTE: this is a collectible item, suitable for a correct historic display. It is NOT recommened for actual use. This is the sling that was commonly used on the M1917 Enfield, the M1 Garand, the M1903 Springfield, the M1903A3 Springfield and the M1941 Johnson Rifles. Check out my other items.
