The Browning Automatic Rifle (BAR) was developed for the US Army late in WW1, and proved its effectiveness in the climactic battle of the Argonne Forest. With a few improvements during the interwar period, the BAR soldiered on into WW2, and was heavily used by Marines in the Pacific. A specially designed leather sling was issued to BAR gunners during WW2, which was longer and featured three hooks as opposed to the two on the standard M-1907 rifle sling. This US Army USMC Marine WW2 HICKOK 3 PRONG LEATHER BAR SLING is in excellent condition, with some light scattered drying, darkening, and surface cracking, and with some light scattered age wear evident (ALL pictured). Otherwise, the sling is in excellent shape, with no other damage to the elegant brown leather construction. Most interestingly, it boasts the classic three “gun metal gray” finished metal sizing “claws”, sports a matching metal central hinge, and is stamped at one interior end with its maker and date, “HICKOK / 1943″. It features both of the original brown leather adjusting slides, and is a beautiful example of a very rare, original. US Army USMC Marine WW2 HICKOK 3 PRONG LEATHER BAR SLING. Track Page Views With.
