The leather is professionally finished using old world techniques of hand rubbed oils, and waxes to give a beautiful, long lasting luster to your fine gun leather, the edges are highly burnished, polished and edge coated to complete the professional finish. This listing is for a Special Order like Sporting Rifle Sling as shown in dark brown stain, which features Sheridan style floral tooling, a thumb hole for comfort and control in the field and is fully adjustable as shown in our photos. I removed this sling from a Springfield Trapdoor rifle made in the 1880’s. Sure looks to be that vintage. This would be ideal for a vintage Springfield rifle. The leather is in good shape. It shows some dry cracking but is sturdy. Overall, a nice sling and is made with good quality. Parts Questions and Requests.
