Nice WW2 US M1907? Rifle Leather Sling SPRINGFIELD M1 Garand. Picked this sling up at a Local Gun Collectors Estate recently. The sling is in Very Nice Condition with no tears. Leather is still nice and soft. The sling shows genuine age for a period piece although I have no first hand information from the previous owner. If you have a Henry rifle that you cherish and don’t want to drill into the stock but need a sling, well this is for you! These are made by hand with pure Old World Craftsmanship! Made in the USA. These are made of soft saddle leather. Very nice and flexible, will give you many years of service. 1 1/4 wide and 48 long. Available in 1 , 1 1/2″, 2″ and 3/4 see other auctions. Includes 2 Chicago screws and 2 leather loops. Pick your color hardware, blue, brass or chrome. If you don’t message the color hardware you want we will send brass hardware. The rivets are counter sunk and a felt pad is put over them to ensure your stock doesn’t get scratched. This is not your typical store bought sling! This is a Custom Made sling. This sling does not require sling swivels or studs for installation, but you can use a sling keeper/swivel on the barrel end if needed. The Custom Bayou Gun Sling! M1 Garand/M1907 Springfield leather sling from World War 1 and 2 and post war. The sling is 36 1/2 long. The second piece of the sling is approximately 22 long. The sling is stamped 1515. There looks to be the remnants of a gold embossed stamp next to the number. Sling shows normal wear/tear due to age with some cracking and other age related defects. Sling metal parts have two rivets. Sling is in two separate parts. I would consider for use in display but as I’m no expert I’ll leave that up to the new owner if they want to use the sling in support of a rifle. This vintage sling has been examined and the consensus by some is that it is pre to WW2 use. Others believe it may have been made by a foreign country for use on M-1’s provided to the US. This could include Japan, Korea, Turkey, Argentina, Denmark, Thailand, Norway, Brazil to name but a few of the many countries that received M-1’s. Normal wear and tear associated with age.
