Original WWI Era US Army/USMC M1907 Leather Sling for the M1903 Springfield or M1917 Enfiled – Marked: Rock Island Arsenal 1914 – Very Nice Condition. Up for sale is an Original WWI Era US Army/USMC M1907 Leather Sling. The sling is marked Rock Island Arsenal and dated 1914. This sling has the correct WWI Blackened Brass hooks. The sling is used, see photo’s for condition. The sling has both leather keepers. The leather is soft and supple. There is wrinkling of the leather. No rips or tears in the leather. The leather has darken with age. The stitching is all tight and intact. Very hard to find Early 1914 Dated slings from this period. This is an Original Functional WWI era Sling and would look great on a WWI era rifle. NOTE: this is a collectible item, suitable for a correct historic display. It is NOT recommened for actual use. This is the sling that was commonly used on the M1917 Enfield, the M1 Garand, the M1903 Springfield, the M1903A3 Springfield and the M1941 Johnson Rifles. Check out my other items. Indian War Era US Army Model 1873 Springfield Trapdoor Rifle Sling – 2nd Pattern – Original – Very Nice Condition. Up for Sale is an Indian War Era US Army Model 1873 Springfield Trapdoor Rifle Sling. This is the 2nd Pattern Sling, with a single hook at one end and a brass stud loop at the other end. The sling is approximatley 1 1/4″ wide x 65″ long. These longer slings were commonly made by sewing two salvaged Civil War Musket Sling together. You can see the seam were the two slings were sewen together. The only visible markings on the sling is a “US”. The leather is soft and supple, some wrinkling of the leather. No breaks through the leather. It has the original sling keepers. Still has the original dark brown color. The sling is used, please see photo’s for condition. The age of the leather, will make the sling weaker than when it was new, and may not be able to support the weight of the weapon. Check out my other items. Handcrafted rifle sling, made by Seelye Leather Works. Carved and tooled by hand. Made from veg-tanned cow and backed with American Bison. The sling is padded, adjustable, and has brass chicago screw fasteners. The sling starting length is 30 1/2″ long and adjust out to 33″ long. All of SLW items are handcrafted, each item is unique. SLW uses only the finest natural leather, and the natural surface of leather has its own characteristics. The proof of its uniqueness is the markings that occur during the life of the animal. Leather used to create the products of SLW will include scratches, scars, brands, insect bites, indentations and scuffs. This adds to the uniqueness and beauty of SLW products. 30 1/2″ long, 31 3/4″, 33 long. 3 wide at the top including piping. 2 wide at the bottom including piping. 1 1/8 wide top and bottom strap. Handmade leather gunstock cover 8 oz leather and sling 10 oz leather to match. Leather is natural oiled leather and is laced with a buckskin colored cow hide that gives a real old west look! Matching lever wrap included! Easily attaches , is very attractive and very user friendly. (leather can be different shade depending on the hide). Special attachments supplied and incorporated into assembly. Shells held tightly with heavy loops or no loops at all if desired. Please notify me and I will add a large decorative stitch in place. Com for more designs. If any modifications of the stock have been made cutting off / adding a recoil. Etc that changes the original stock there may be additional charge for making pattern.
