Very nice German late war WWII leather sling for Mauser K98 and other German firearms , G43’s. Leather is nice and strong – shows some expected ware. I could not find any markings on this sling. Correct ricasso pattern and stitching in nice shape. Can be safely mounted on your K98. Leather is very playable. Check my other auctions. LEATHER RIFLE SLING SCHMIDT RUB. 38 ½ INCHES Could be for a carbine? No cracks in the leather. Just minor surface wrinkles and light wear. Overall, the leather is smooth and it is strong. There is a large stamp on the back side. It looks like: RUD. OECHSLE over 15 over HUTTWYL. The 15 is in an eye opening shape surround. Mostly a medium brown color with some darker areas. Color is natural 8 oz leather for cover and 12oz for the sling. NOTE: back side of sling will be covered with leather. Sorry I don’t have pics to show. Forearm matching all included. As seen in pics these are incorporated into the stock cover and barrel. Assemble is set in a side mount arrangement allowing this to be carried across chest or across back in bandoleer style. Also comes with matching lever wrap! I can add stamped initials if wanting to at no extra charge. Sling is fully adjustable (54 long) , will hold up to 13 cartridges (depending on size) of your choice or none at all if desired. Cover conforms , Fits tightly to stock as seen. Laces like a shoe. This is very comfortable and works great for carrying while on foot , horseback or atv. Must have stock sites. You will really enjoy the looks and functionality of this set up! Original World War One WW1 US M-1907 leather rifle sling. These were issued with M-1903 Springfield Rifles and Enfield P-17 Rifles. Latter issued between the wars and into WW2 for M-1 Garand rifles and again for Springfields. These were also used by the British with the Enfield No. The Kerr Sling is considered by many to be the greatest sling ever made. They are still being made today. This fine example has original brass hook fittings and is marked Rock Island Arsenal 1917 T. This is one of the rarest maker and year combinations. Still soft and flexible with not tears or splits.
