December 25, 2020
Original WWI Era US Army/USMC M1907 Leather Sling for the M1903 Springfield or M1917 Enfiled – Marked: G&K 1918 – Unissued Condition. Up for sale is an Original WWI Era US Army/USMC M1907 Leather Sling. The sling is marked: G&K 1918 with C. This sling has the correct WWI Blackened Brass hooks. Still retains most of the original blackening on the brass hooks. The sling is unissued, see photo’s for condition. There is no evidence of the sling actually being used on a rifle. The sling has both leather keepers. The leather is soft and supple. No rips or tears in the leather. No cracks or crazing of the leather. The leather has minor darking due to age. The stitching is all tight and intact. This is an Original Functional WWI era Sling and would look great on a WWI era rifle. NOTE: this is a collectible item, suitable for a correct historic display. It is NOT recommened for actual use. This is the sling that was commonly used on the M1917 Enfield, the M1 Garand, the M1903 Springfield, the M1903A3 Springfield and the M1941 Johnson Rifles.
