Missing short strap that attaches to buckle end. Really neat piece of WW2 history. Up for sale is this vintage Swedish Military m/96 m/38 rifle sling. This variant is distinguished by having exactly 24 adjustment holes punched into the leather. The “Swedish Crown” is prominently stamped to the underside of the leather just below the buckle. The “yellow tape” around the loop is further verification of this slings authenticity. Swedish military arsenal color-coding or soldier personalization was common on different types of gear issued during war time. Sling measures 48 1/2 inches in length. This Vintage 50s Austrian Gendarmerie Police M1 Carbine Rifle Leather Sling is in good, clean condition overall and only shows mild evidence of age and service. The sling is well marked and was made by Stolla of Vienna , Austria sometime in the mid 50s. The sling is stamped “1 GBA 56, ” appearing to indicate Gendarmerie Procurement Office 1956. ” Several ink inscriptions are also present, one appearing to read “Jager. The brown leather is in very good, supple condition and shows no signs of damage from abuse or neglect. The brass hardware is clean and functions exactly as you would expect. This sling would make an excellent addition to any advanced M1 Carbine collection and would be difficult to upgrade. Hard To Find Original Austrian Police Leather M1 Carbine Sling

Offered is an original Austrian police issue leather sling manufactured for use with the M1 Carbine rifle. This sling is maker marked Stolla Wien in an oval next to the stud. It is also marked 1ABT. 5C62 for the 1st Abteilung Section, 5C, 62 (Gendarmerie procurement office 1962). This sling is complete and full length. It is offered as pictured and shows only normal wear and has no rips, tears, repairs, or modifications. These slings used to be rather plentiful but have dried up in recent years and are not extremely hard to find. This one is a nice, supple example.
