Recently, a customer said his Bushcrafts sling performed flawlessly during a late-season elk hunt in the Rockies, even in snow and freezing rain. The sling remained silent, secure, and comfortable throughout the trip. Another hunter from the Southeast shared that his sling was equally reliable on a week-long whitetail hunt in the swamps, where rain and humidity never caused it to slip or stiffen. Many more photos and reviews are available. The idea was to create a simple, heavy-duty, adjustable leather sling with no hardware, buckles, stitching, rivets, or screws. Hardware-free means silence-no noise on the move. Fewer failure points allow dependable performance in tough conditions. It’s a single leather strap with two integral braids, simple enough to make with just a knife-hence the name Bushcrafts. 11,085,731 was granted on the first submission. Each sling includes two matching all-leather keepers, cut from the same leather. Keepers are two leather loops that help hold the straps together and help maintain length adjustments. Each sling is made entirely with hand tools-no power tools or machines. I cut straps by hand from whole hides. These aren’t from a production line. Built for tough outdoor use, the sling won’t absorb water, stiffen, or lose grip in rain, snow, or mud. It stays reliable whatever the weather. These are serious dependable tools, not decorative rifle accessories. For years, these slings have proven reliable for hardcore hunters and off-grid homesteaders. To maintain your sling, wipe off dirt and mud with a damp cloth, then let it dry naturally, away from heat. The leather is deeply treated at the tannery, so no heavy oiling or conditioning is needed. For long-term care, occasionally use a small amount of neatsfoot oil, leather conditioner, or saddle soap to keep it flexible and looking good. Basically, treat it like your horse tack. The leather is weather-resistant, true Latigo, tanned from native U. Heavy steer hides (not cowhide). Latigo leather is tanned twice and treated with oils, waxes, and tallow at the tannery, which can’t be replicated with home conditioners. It breaks in quickly, becoming supple and comfortable after 10-15 hours of use. Comes with two steel sling swivels installed. Just attach the sling to your rifle, and you’re ready. The swivels are made by GrovTec in the USA. Length adjusts by sliding the center braided knot. Quick adjustment is easy, even with gloves. Fits all rifles and shotguns that have standard sling swivel studs (most modern hunting rifles and shotguns from brands like Remington, Henry, Winchester, Ruger, Mossberg, Savage, Marlin, and others).
