Spanish-American War Era US M1898 Leather Sling for the Krag Rifle – Original – NICE Condition. Up for sale is a Spanish American War US M1898 Leather Sling for the Krag Rifle. This is the later sling designed specifically for the M1898 Krag Rifle. It has a single brass hook with a loop end and brass stud. The leather is soft and supple. There are surface cracks in the leather, see photos. No tears in the leather. It has both leather sling keepers and the brass stud. The sling is used, please see photos for condition. This sling over 125 year old may not be strong enough to support the weight of the rifle. Attempting to use this sling to actually carry a rifle will probably break the sling.
