Vintage hand-tooled leather rifle sling featuring an intricate Western desert scene and bold carved “ARIZONA” lettering. This piece displays detailed storytelling typical of mid-century Western leathercraft and appears to be handmade and signed DVP. The carved imagery includes a covered wagon pulled by a four-horse team, a revolver, wagon wheel, cactus, desert plants, and a coiled snake. The tooling demonstrates impressive craftsmanship and layered composition. Notably, the wagon scene depicts four horses rendered in perspective, with the rear pair partially emerging from behind the front horses-an advanced design detail rarely seen in basic souvenir leatherwork. The piece also shows skilled leatherworking techniques including beveled carving, background matting, and stamped texturing, such as the star-stamp pattern used to create the snake’s scaled surface. The leather remains supple and flexible, not brittle, and shows a rich natural patina consistent with age. Wear is minimal and appropriate for a vintage piece. The leather sling is completely handcrafted by me, without any machine stamping or finished stamps, everything is unique made. No two same leather sling. Perfect gift for a friend or for you. You can be used this leather strap to attach your sporting goods or etc. This leather shoulder sling is made from two types genuine leather. The top leather is high quality full grain Italian genuine real cow leather. The backside genuine leather is brown, medium-soft for more comfort. The two leathers are stitching up with strong thread. The leather shoulder sling is about 10-11 oz (4,0-4,4 mm) thick. The pictures are hand tooled (hand engraved) with metal craft tools and hand painted with American professional leather dyes. The leather shoulder sling has finished with professional water resistant high gloss top varnish.
