LEATHER US 1st MODEL FROG 1887 KRAG TRAPDOOR & SPRINGFIELD RIFLE SLING 69 STAMP

Very nice looking sling overall. This is an original leather sling from a Krag or Trapdoor. This sling type can and was used on other rifles up to 1907 and beyond. It has very good brass hardware and very good leather. The keeper stitching is very strong. The brass button and frog edge next to the leather have some black, dried substance. The frog is securely attached and has the 1st model legs which are thinner than the later frogs. The leather has some medium and mostly darker brown colors. The leather has a combination of smooth and surface wrinkles with almost no hairline cracks and no other visible cracking. The leather is soft and pliable. It is stamped 69. It measures approximately 69 1/4 inches. The backside of the leather looks very good. I will add it if I can capture it. I will be posting more of these slings. CIVIL WAR MUSKET OR RIFLE SLING LEATHER VERY GOOD CONDITION 65 ¼ inches

This sling was originally made from 3 sections that are sewed together and the stitching is very strong. It has one brass hook that has a nice shape to it and is securely fastened. The vast majority of the surface is very nice with some surface wear on the end that has the keeper. Both keepers are very nice but the stitching has come loose where the ends meet. Monogram no longer offered. Stitch on sling if choosing no shell loops. This can be made only for Rossi ranch hand and Henry mares leg. I add a cover on the back side of the sling so shell holders don’t show (not pictured). Color is natural 8 oz leather for cover and 12oz for the sling. As seen in pics these are incorporated into the stock cover and barrel. Assemble is set in a side mount arrangement allowing this to be carried across chest or across back in bandoleer style. Also comes with matching lever wrap! Note : mares leg front attachment is attached to barrel and magazine not like pictured to forearm. Sling is fully adjustable (54 long) , will hold up to 13 cartridges (depending on size) or if you want I can add a stitch / lacing down the middle in place of shell loops. Just tell me along with gun info in message after sale. NOTE: back side of sling will be covered (not shown in pics) this makes a much nicer finish. Sorry that I don’t have pics to display this.
